2. Know the Seller:
One of the wonderful things about eBay is that while we don't actually KNOW who we are dealing with... through the feedback system, we can get to know who we are dealing with. Obviously, we'd all like to buy from 100% positive sellers with 5000+ feedback scores next to their UserIDs, but this is rarely the case. I ALWAYS check the feedback of those that I am buying from very carefully- both buying and selling. There are a few red flags to keep an eye out for:

LOUIS VUITTON Date Code & Production Explanation Guide
Louis Vuitton has been using production codes- or Date Codes as they are commonly referred to... in almost every item that they have produced since the early 1980s. These codes are included for Louis Vuitton's own "internal purposes" and are not meant (by LVMH) as authentication tools at all. However, knowing how date codes work can be very helpful when determining the age and authenticity of authentic Louis Vuitton items that are purchased on the secondary market.

I am fully aware that there are sellers and groups of Louis Vuitton admirers who would rather that we not openly discuss date codes in general. They black out the pictures of DCs that you'll see on eBay or will say that the date code will only be "revealed" to the highest bidder. And yet, these codes are freely discussed on LV discussion boards and are reproduced in any number of LV guides that you can purchase on eBay or the internet.
The idea is that counterfeiters might "learn what we know" and will use that info to make better fakes.
Let's face it... for replica handbags to be as "good" (I know, oxymoron!) as they are today... the fakers are very sophisticated. They aren't just copying pictures that they see on the internet. These guys are buying the real deal, ripping them apart and trying as best as they can to make exact replicas. The logos, lining, hardware and yes, date codes are getting better and better.
Trust me, Louis Vuitton could make a hologram (like Chanel) or an individual serial number code inside their bags- if they were wanting to help with authentication... but for whatever reason, they've chosen not to do that.

Spotting fake Juicy Couture handbags - part one
This guide was originally written in 2005. Some stylistic information may be out of date.
Juicy fakes are EVERYWHERE on eBay now. In fact, when I scan the
auction listings, I almost see more fake bags than authentic bags. As a
lover of Juicy Couture's products, I want to make sure that all ebay
bidders are informed about Juicy bags and know what to look for. This
is part one of my Juicy guide - eBay has limits on the length of
guides, so I'm breaking it up into two parts.
Here are a few ways to avoid getting a fake bag:
1) I personally absolutely would not buy from anyone overseas, especially China and Hong Kong.
Almost all of the fake bags I've seen come from sellers in these two
places (although not all), so while an overseas seller is not a
guarantee that the bag is fake, it's a lot more likely. And just
because a seller is in the United States, it does not mean that their

Fake COACH bags are a little difficult to spot, but here are some tips based on my personal experiences and observations:
